This is a matter of personal taste, not necessity. Sottocapo is built with end-to-end encryption of your OAuth tokens and follows the security practices outlined in our privacy policy. But we recognize that the boundary between personal correspondence and outside opportunities is a personal one, and some prefer to keep them in separate places. If you'd like to do the same, simply create a new Gmail and connect that to Sottocapo when you sign in. Either way, the choice is yours.
